Sustainability & Eco Awareness

raindropsSamudrawasa was a sympathetic renovation of an existing dutch colonial period beach bungalow; we have used as much of the original building, frames doors and fittings  as possible and repaired as much of the building as we could during the renovation

Local craftsmen and labourers were used in all renovations, with existing materials being reused or re-purposed wherever possible. Materials were sourced as close to the projects as possible, and eco-friendly paints and finishes were used.

Solar power has been chosen for hot-water systems in Samudrawasa, and the reinstatement of the interior reflection pool aids in cooling the main areas of the villa.

Lighting throughout uses long-life low-wattage LED bulbs.

Water is a precious commodity and is treated with care. Grey water is re-used where possible, and natural aquifers are managed responsibly.

All bathroom products are made by Siam Botanicals and are natural & free from any harsh synthetic chemicals.

Our laundry and swimming pools are managed with the minimal usage of chemicals.
